An enthusiastic crowd was on hand as honorees of the 2022 Wood Industry 40 Under 40 were recognized on August 22nd, 2022 at a special Leadership Reception. This year marks Woodworking Network’s seventh annual awarding of the 40 Under 40, which celebrates industry professionals who are making an impact at their jobs, in the community, and on the North American woodworking industry.
Vernon Hills, IL – August 1, 2022 - It is with great excitement that Würth Baer Supply Company announces the acquisition of J&G Machinery in Sanford, North Carolina. The addition of J&G Machinery will expand Würth’s woodworking machinery sales and service footprint to include the southeast United States. Both J&G Machinery owners John Johnson and Jerry Johnson (and all J&G employees) will continue to manage the day-to-day business just as it is operating today. J&G and its’ field sales team are ideally located to service the southeast United States’ cabinet, millwork, and furniture manufacturing market.
Würth Baer Supply Company CEO John Geraghty recently commented about the acquisition noting: “The Würth organization is extremely pleased to add the J&G Machinery team to our expanding woodworking machinery portfolio. Jasper, IN - Machine Solutions LLC and Robotics Solutions LLC would like to welcome Carl Jones! Carl will serve as the Service and Parts Manager for both companies.
Carl joins the Machine and Robotics Solutions teams with prolific technical service experience in the Wood and Composite Industries, specifically in the realm of CNC machinery. Titus Group announces the acquisition of Precision Plastics in Columbia City, Indiana.
Precision Plastics brings over 60 years of manufacturing experience and a long history supplying the automotive sector. The combination will enhance Titus’ capabilities by providing added capacity to meet their current customers’ needs. Titus Group North America CEO Matthew Hurley says: “We have looked at opportunities to onshore more of our manufacturing in the United States for quite some time. We look forward to welcoming Precision Plastics’ team and supporting them with investment in current and new programs. The introduction of Titus Group’s proprietary zinc metal and automation capabilities will now enable us to develop a wider range of customer-specific solutions locally.”
In 2021 Titus Group provided over three billion connectors, and functional hardware components to the worldwide furniture, kitchen and appliance industries. Titus is a leader in OEM supply of damping engineering. Titus Group Chairman, Robert Appleby says: “Titus is no stranger to US manufacturing. Nashville, TN – The Wood Industry Resource Collaborative (WIRC) is excited to announce the launch of their industry-wide career awareness campaign, “You Wood.” Developed by several industry trade associations led by AWFS, WMIA, and WMMA, in partnership with Nashville-based INDUSTRIAL Strength Marketing, the WIRC campaign aims to communicate wood industry career pathways and attract new talent.
The “You Wood” campaign features a website with career resource information, including profiles of high-demand positions, career quizzes, links to educational resources like schools and scholarships, industry information, and an events calendar. The site will be continually updated, and features will be added, including industry pro spotlights, additional career pathway information, and custom video content.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (September 3, 2020) – This week, Biesse America and Biesse Canada announced the appointment of Randy Jamison and Matt Fleming to the newly created role of Chief Commercial Officer. Randy will be responsible for the development of the commercial strategy for the wood and advanced materials divisions in the United States and glass, stone and tooling divisions in the United States and Canada. Matt Fleming will develop the commercial strategy for the wood and advanced materials divisions in Canada.

FAIRFAX, VA – The Woodworking Machinery Industry Association (WMIA) announced today that Jeffrey Wasserman, an instructor at Seattle Central College’s Wood Technology Center, will receive the 2020 Educator of the Year Wooden Globe Award.
The Educator of the Year Award is presented annually to an educational institution or company with a structured curriculum tailored to training individuals for careers in the woodworking industry. It is part of WMIA’s Wooden Globe Awards program, which recognizes how investing in new equipment and technology can impact a company’s productivity, efficiency, and profitability, as well as salutes the contributions of educators.
