WMIA-Woodworking Machinery Industry Association launches WoodNexus™, an Online Community for the Woodworking Machinery Industry, Professional woodworkers, Importers, Manufacturers and Distributors to share knowledge and network year-round.

Middleton, WI: The Woodworking Machinery Industry Association announces WoodNexus, a membership-based online community, to help professional woodworkers connect and collaborate with the woodworking machinery side of the industry. Anyone involved in the wood products industry is welcome to join.

“WMIA intends to create an online community for the industry, including professional woodworkers, machinery manufacturers, importers and distributors. Woodworking machinery professionals meet in person only a couple of times a year. Our vision for WoodNexus is that we all stay in touch, collaborate, do business and learn from one another year-round,” says Jason Dingess, Board Member of WMIA.

Sponsors can share educational and product information via discussion topics and focus groups. All community members can follow companies and industry influencers for their updates. Energy and growth created at in-person industry events will be enhanced as WoodNexus extends the value before, during and after the experience.

Manufacturers and Importers can listen to the market and present themselves as thought leaders.
Distributors and associates have a direct line of communication with manufacturers and importers.
Educational and training facilities can help their instructors, and students connect with industry leaders. Professional woodworkers can network and share best practices in woodworking.

Michael Battaglia, CAE, President and CEO of WMIA, says, “WoodNexus is the new ‘LinkedIn’ for the wood industry. This dynamic online community has been designed to support and grow business relationships throughout the year.

More information is available at www.woodnexus.org.

WMIA unveiled the new community at the Woodworking Industry Conference (WIC) on April 25-27, 2023, in San Diego, CA.

Register for the JTC Webinar: 5 Practical QR Code Use Cases

The WMIA and WMMA Joint Technology Committee present #jtc27 - a series of short webinars covering technology that is affecting the Wood Machinery Industry.

The latest webinar in this series will cover several use cases for Quick Response (QR) codes that you can easily implement in your organization. From keeping documentation/service manuals up-to-date to creating easy, dynamic links to the latest standard operating procedures on the shop floor, to marketing and simple information exchanges, there are processes that could be made more efficient and more easily trackable by utilizing QR codes. The Joint Technology Committee will highlight these and other significant use cases of this fast-growing barcode technology.

We'll have a short Q&A afterward as well as a survey – and we would like your feedback as to what topics if any, you would like to see more presentations on in the future. It's free to attend - we hope you or one of your colleagues can join us!
